Campground in Arizona
Apache Maid Mountain, is 2 hours north of Phoenix, Arizona, and just 45 minutes north of Camp Verde, Arizona. The cabin is located in the shade of a ponderosa pine forest just south of the Mogollon Rim. Nearby Stoneman Lake, Beaver Creek, and Sedona offer popular recreation activities. The cabin was originally built by Charles Babbitt in 1909 and served as a ranch house for cattlemen, and later as a Forest Service ranger station. The cabin has been restored to its historic character.The Apache Maid cabin is a small cabin (520 square feet) and can accommodate up to 6 overnight visitors inside. The house has one bedroom (with a bunk bed, a double size bottom and a twin top; and a rollaway single bed), living room (with a futon couch), and a kitchen/dining room. The kitchen has a stove, but no refrigerator. An outdoor vault toilet is 50 yards from the house. The house is not handicap accessible.
